Arrive to Eleftherios Venizelas International Airport where you will be met and transferred to your elegant five-star hotel, opposite Constitution Square and the House of Parliament. At 18.00 meet your Travelling Concierge and fellow travellers for a delicious Welcome Dinner.(Dinner with Wine)
Ancient and Modern Athens
With a Local Expert visit the Acropolis and admire the Parthenon dedicated to the goddess Athena, see remarkable displays of the ancient world whilst visiting the Acropolis Museum, voted one of the top 10 museums in the world. Afterwards experience Athens as the Athenians do! Explore the city markets and discover the colourful tastes of Athens, stopping off at local vendors such as a cafenion – a Greek traditional coffee house to learn the art of making the perfect Greek coffee! In the afternoon, enjoy a VIP Experience and meet a top Athenian scholar and philosopher in the beautiful Ancient Agora, the antique meeting place of Philosophers and proletarians alike. Walk in the footsteps of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle as you delve into the fascinating lives of the Ancient Athenians, and learn how their philosophy has shaped our lives today. Afterwards watch the stunning sunset from a roof top as you enjoy a cooling cocktail.(Breakfast)
Epidauros theatre, the Peloponnese and Nafplio
One of the best-preserved ancient theatres in Europe, The Epidauros theatre, famous for its amazing acoustics, is still used today for music and theatre performances. Later see the fishing villages of Peloponnese and learn about the local community who continue the tradition of making their living from the sea. Upon arrival in Nafplio - stroll through the elegant streets of the beautiful Venetian town and discover a traditional tsipouro distillery, where you can sample the poignant drink and meet the distillery owners.(Breakfast)
Experience Nafplio Your Way Enjoy a private sailing trip or discover the local culinary treasures of Nafplio. Private sailing trip - enjoy an idyllic private sailing trip in the bay of Nafplio, and see the Venetian fortress Bourtzi, and Palamidi castle crowning the hill above the beautiful city. Culinary treasures of Nafplio - discover local culinary treasures and meet the producers! Visit a beekeeping workshop where the beekeeper presents his bees and taste their award-winning honey. Afterwards stop at a local olive oil mill, and learn about the procedure of olive oil making, tasting high quality olive oil on scrumptious fresh bread! The final stop is Ouzo distillery with intoxicating smells and tastes of Greece’s national drink!! The beehive tombs of Mycenae and the Island of Mykonos
With a Local Expert delve into the Ancient Mycenaean Culture and hear the myths of Clytemnestra - the wife of King Agamemnon - the King of Mycenae. Explore the city ruins, pass through the Lion Gate and enter the impressive beehive tomb - also known as the Treasury of Atreus said to have been the burial chamber of King Agamemnon himself. Built in the Bronze age, around 1250 BC it is still intact today! Later from Athens take a short flight to the iconic Cycladic island of Mykonos. This evening, enjoy exploring the maze of narrow paved streets of Mykonos, and stop for local tastes of the island and see the famous windmills of little Venice.(Breakfast / Dinner with Wine)
The Island of Light- Ancient Delos and Traditional Myconian Farmstead
Travel to the island of Delos and enjoy a private guided visit to the birthplace of the God Apollo – the God of light. Standing in the centre of this World Unesco Heritage site – feel the awe of this inspirational island, once the home to 30,000 inhabitants from various eastern Mediterranean countries, including wealthy bankers, ship owners and merchants. This afternoon visit a traditional Myconian farmstead, learn about the farming methods used on Mykonos whilst visiting their rustic buildings built in the Cycladic tradition. Enjoy time perhaps for a dip in the sparkling Aegean or last minute shopping in the boutiques of Chora in Mykonos town, before taking the short return flight to Athens.
