Day 1: Athens - Nafplion (D)
This morning you will be collected from your hotel for a five day tour of some of Greece's wonderful classical sights.
Drive on the coast road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal where a short stop will be made. Cross over to the Peloponnese and visit the archaeological attractions of Epidaurus including the famous 4th Century BC theatre with its incredible acoustics. Proceed to the town of Nafplio. Afternoon at leisure to explore the charming old town of Nafplio - the first capital of the Kingdom of Greece.
Day 2: Nauplion – Olympia (BD)
Morning at leisure to further explore this fascinating town. Around mid-day depart for Mycenae where you will visit the archaeological site and the tomb of Agamemnon, brother of the jilted husband of Helen of Troy and the man who commanded the united Greek forces in the ensuing war. Continue to Olympia via the central Peloponnese towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Olympia was the site of the Olympic Games in classical times with the event being held every four years from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Overnight in Olympia.
Day 3: Olympia – Delphi (BD)
This morning explore Olympia, cradle of the Olympic Games, visiting the sanctuary of Olympian Zeus and the Museum. Continue through the plains of Ilia and Achaia to the magnificent bridge which crosses the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos (Lepanto) and Itea en-route to Delphi for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Delphi – Kalambaka (BD)
This morning explore Delphi's ancient sanctuary. Visit the Archaeological Site and the Museum, where you can see many archaeological treasures including a unique bronze charioteer. Later proceed to Kalambaka a small town situated at the foot of the astonishing complex of the gigantic stone pillars of Meteora. Dinner and overnight Kalambaka.
Day 5: Kalambaka – Athens (B)
