Important Information
Day 1: Marrakech (D)
Welcome to Morocco. On arrival you will be met by a representative of our local operator and transferred to your hotel where your accommodation is reserved for one night with dinner and breakfast. Remainder of day at leisure.
Day 2: Marrakech – Essaouira - El Jadida – Casablanca (B D)
Early departure to Essaouira. Visit of this city, once known as capital of the hippies, which is full of Portuguese history. It is a harbour city with the most ancient fortified port in the world still preserved. This afternoon depart to Casablanca passing by the Atlantic road with several stops in Oualidia and El Jadida. Orientation tour of El Jadida former fortress of Mazagan which was built by the portuguese, and possibility to visit the Portuguese Cistern. Late arrival to Casablanca.
Day 3: Casablanca – Meknes – Fez (B D)
Visit of the Economic Capital. Experience the the Central Market, the Habous district, the Royal Palace, Mohamed V square, the residential area of Anfa, and the outside of the Mosque Hassan II. Departure to Meknes. Lunch (optional). Visit Meknes, the Ismailia capital which has the longer ramparts in Morocco, the famous Bab Mansour gate, the Royal Stables, and the Jewish quarter. Continuation to Fez. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 4: Fez (B D)
Today visit many places of interest in Fez, the most ancient cultural and spiritual city of Morocco. Visit the medieval Medina, the medersas, Karaouine Mosque, and the famous Nejjarine Fountain. This afternoon continue with a walk through the old medina where you will see different craftsmen still operating in the old oriental tradition. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Fez – Rabat – Marrakech (B D)
Departure to the holy city of Moulay Driss and the ruins of Volubilis, the Roman City. Then to Rabat, the Administrative Capital. Visit the Royal Palace (Mechouar), the Ouadayas Garden & Kasbah, the Mohamed V Mausoleum, and the Hassan Tower Mosque. Fish lunch (optional). Continuation to Marrakesh using the high-way. Check-in dinner and accommodation.
Day 6: Marrakech (B L)
Today explore Marrakech, the second oldest imperial city known as the “Pearl of the South”. The historical sightseeing includes the Menara Garden, the Saadien Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia, and the Dar Si Said Museum. In the afternoon visit the souks, and take a walk through winding streets and the Djemaâ El Fna Square with its many local entertainers creating a vibrant local setting.
Tonight option to join a typical dinner under Caïdal tents at the famous "Chez Ali” restaurant, enhanced by the performance of several folkloric troops.
Day 7: Marrakech-Ouarzazate-Zagora (B D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure through Tizi N’tichka Pass (altitude 2260m) to Ait Benhaddou. Visit the famous kasbah that has served as decor for many great movies. The Kasbah is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This afternoon continue to Zagora crossing the Draa valley. Dinner & accommodation at your hotel.
Day 8: Zagora –Tazzarine – Erfoud (B D)
After breakfast a morning departure takes you to Tamgroute where you visit the pottery centre and the library with its ancient Koranic manuscripts. Continue toward Erfoud through Tansikht and Nkob where splendid sceneries of pre-saharian and Berber villages of the Sargho Mountain follow each other perpetually. This afternoon drive to Erfoud via the villages of Alnif and Rissani, birthplace of the present Alaouites Dynasty. Dinner and accommodation at your hotel in Erfoud.
Optional bivouac in a nomadic tent at the dunes of Merzouga:
The Merzouga Dunes are an impressive drifting chain of sand dunes that can reach 160m and seem to have escaped from the much larger dune field across the nearby border to Algeria. The Erg Dunes are a magical landscape and offer a scene of constant change as sunlight transforms them from pink to gold to red. Tonight experience a dinner and night under Bedouin tents.
Please note that the desert camp offers simple Bedouin tented accommodation with basic shared facilities. This property has been selected for its location at the foot of the Merzouga Dunes allowing you to appreciate a desert night under the stars.
Day 9: Erfoud-Tinghir-Ouarzazate (B D)
In case the previous night was spent in the hotel in Erfoud there is an optional excursion by 4WD vehicles to Merzouga to admire the sunrise on the top of the sand dunes.
Breakfast and departure to Tineghir via Rissani. Visit the ruins of Ksar Abbar and drive via the Tinjdad Road to the stunning Todra Gorge known for its many impressive canyons and escarpments. This afternoon continue to Ouarzazate via El Kelâa M’gouna and the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 10: Ouarzazate – Marrakech (B D)
Breakfast at the hotel & departure for an orientation city tour of Ouarzazate. Continue to Marrakech for afternoon at leisure followed by dinner & overnight.
Day 11: Marrakech (B)
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
