This river cruise holiday showcases France’s charm, breath taking views, and rich history. On the first portion of your cruise, from Arles to Chalon-sur-Saône, you’ll enjoy several onboard jazz performances and the chance to visit the Vienne Jazz Festival on your own.

Your adventure begins on the Rhône River with a visit to Arles, France—famous for inspiring the paintings of Van Gogh—and its 1st-century Roman Amphitheater. On a guided tour of historical Avignon, see the 14th-century Palace of the Popes. The city of Tournon is beautifully nestled among vineyards and you’ll go on a guided walk of this medieval treasure with plenty of Roman ruins. Lyon, France’s gastronomic capital is a showcase of medieval and Renaissance architecture. See its 16th-century castle, and Roman ruins between the Rhone River and the granite slopes of the Hermitage. DISCOVERY During your sailing to Vienne enjoy a Jazz entertainment onboard. This evening, enjoy the strains of Gypsy Jazz, a style of jazz often said to have been started by guitarist Jean "Django" Reinhardt in the 1930s.
