From Roman ruins to Romeo and Juliet, Verona certainly is the stuff of legends. Stop today in the city that served as a backdrop for Shakespeare’s famous love story. Continue to Venice, once a maritime powerhouse and republic whose influences can be seen across the Eastern Mediterranean.
