Itinerary
Day 1: Tulcea (Romania)
Passengers are welcome to board out ship in Tulcea. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we'll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Enjoy dinner and an evening of traditional entertainment on board.
*A flight option from Paris or Strasbourg is available.
Day 2: Tulcea - Sulina - Crisan (Romania)
We'll cruise towards Sulina, located at the mouth of the Danube, all the way to Crisan. Join us for the excursions proposed: CLASSIC: The Danube Delta with its rich fauna and flora. DISCOVERY: The Danube Delta on a speed boat, a thrilling and original discovery. We'll spend the afternoon cruising towards Oltenita.
Day 3: Oltenita (Romania)
Join us on an excursion for both packages: Full-day excursion in Bucharest, the Romanian capital. This city is an incredible mix of styles with its Orthodox churches, manor houses in Second Empire style, clumsy-looking Stalinist architecture of the Communist period and the Palace of the Parliament (exterior only). We'll return on board in Ruse.
Day 4: Ruse (Bulgaria)
Join us on an excursion for both packages: Full-day excursion to Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi, including lunch at a restaurant. We'll return on board in Ruse. Enjoy dinner and an evening of traditional folk entertainment on board.
Day 5: Ruse
Join us on an excursion for both packages: Tour of Ruse and the Basarbovski Monastery. Ruse is a very attractive town thanks to the wide avenues, large squares and wonderful buildings which pay tribute to the national Renaissance architecture. The afternoon will be spent cruising.
Day 6: The Iron Gates
The entire day will be spent cruising on the Danube. Our ship will pass through the Iron Gates, the gorge on the Danube that forms part of the boundary between Serbia and Romania. It was called "The Cauldrons” by ancient sailors, since the water, held tightly between two steep cliffs, seemed to be boiling.
Day 7: Belgrade - Novi Sad (Serbia)
Join us for the excursions proposed: CLASSIC: Guided tour of Belgrade whose rich cultural heritage will surprise you. DISCOVERY: Discover Belgrade by bike. You'll cycle along the history-filled streets with your guide who will explain the city's recent past from World War II to current times. In the afternoon, join us on an excursion for both packages: Discover the multi-ethnic city of Novi Sad, the industrial and financial center of the Serbian economy and a major cultural center, and the Krusedol Monastery. We'll return on board in Novi Sad and cruise onwards to Osijek.
Day 8: Osijek - Mohacs (Hungary)
Join us for the excursions proposed: CLASSIC: Guided tour of Osijek. DISCOVERY: Discover Osijek by bike. The old part of the town, Tvrda, was built at the beginning of the 18th century and is a dream to cycle through. It is the best-preserved, largest ensemble of Baroque buildings in Croatia. We'll spend the afternoon cruising towards Mohacs and through customs before sailing on to Budapest. Tonight's our gala dinner and evening. Our ship will cruise through the night.
Day 9: Budapest (Hungary)
We'll reach Budapest in the morning. Enjoy time and lunch on your own today. Feel free to visit the city at your own pace. Tonight, join us on an excursion for both packages: Traditional evening in Budapest.
Day 10: Budapest - Bratislava
Join us for the excursions proposed: CLASSIC: Sightseeing tour of Budapest, once two distinct cities that united only in 1873. DISCOVERY: Bike tour of Budapest. You'll see all the important sights of the city on an easy-paced ride, cycling through the historical center of Hungarian culture and many other of the legendary sites in Budapest. The afternoon will be spent cruising to Bratislava. Our ship will sail through the night.
Day 11: Bratislava - Vienna
We'll arrive in Bratislava in the early morning. Join us for the excursions proposed: CLASSIC: Guided tour of Bratislava. The charm of the Slovakian capital lies in its old city: splendid Baroque palaces, churches and pleasant squares. DISCOVERY: Hiking in Bratislava: The Little Carpathians. From Devin Castle, we'll take in the splendid view of Bratislava. We'll spend this afternoon cruising to Vienna, reaching it at the end of the day. Enjoy a free evening or join us on an excursion for both packages: Vienna by night.
Day 12: Vienna
Join us on an excursion for both packages: Visit Schönbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the imperial family, and tour of part of Vienna. This afternoon, tour the Hofburg Palace, an imperial march through history, art and luxury. After dinner tonight, join us on an another optional excursion for both packages: Concert of Viennese music (subject to availability not included ) We'll begin to cruise during the night.
Day 13: Melk - Passau
We'll cruise along the most beautiful section of the Wachau Valley before arriving in Melk in the early morning. Join us on an excursion for both packages: Visit Dürnstein, the fortified village where Richard the Lionheart was once held prisoner. In the afternoon, join us visiting Melk Abbey. Originally a Baroque-style palace built between 1702 and 1736, it is now a Benedictine monastery that hosts a prestigious coed school with more than 900 students. In the middle of the afternoon, we'll begin to cruise to Passau. Tonight is our gala dinner and evening.
Day 14: Passau
Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 9:00 a.m. End of our services.
