The World Expo is one of the longest running and largest events on the planet taking place once every five years. This incredible showcase is where ground-breaking innovations such as the washing machine television and mobile phones were first introduced to the world. In 2021 this amazing event will be coming to Dubai and will be the largest event ever held in the Arab world with 192 countries exhibiting and over 25 million visitors expected.
In 2021 the World Expo exhibitors will be focusing on the following three themes:
- Opportunity: Showcasing ideas on creating real change in order to further human development and create a better world.
- Mobility: Dedicated to the movement of goods people ideas and data and how that will help us leap forward into the future.
- Sustainability: A concerted effort to find the most sustainable solutions to energy and resource consumption that will help preserve the planet.
Some exciting news for those who visit the New Zealand site, the legendary Parris Goebel has been appointed to lead the New Zealand Entertainment and Cultural programme. Other activities planned for the New Zealand Pavilion are Food & Beverage Month, Sustainable futures week, Future Foods, Global Indigenous Forum, National Day celebration on 06 February 2022.

Important Information
Day 1: Dubai (B)
Upon arrival at Dubai International Airport you will be met and assisted by one of our local operators and then provided with a transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to unwind from your travels.
Day 2: Dubai (B)
Following breakfast at your hotel you will be picked up for an Old Dubai City coach tour. Within less than 30 years this city was transformed from a small fishing village by the Dubai creek to one of the most important cities in the Gulf region. The old Dubai tour takes you on an oft-overlooked part of the city, exploring its well-preserved cultural treasures; visit to the Dubai Museum; take a traditional Abra ride (Water Taxi) that crosses the Dubai Creek, explore bedazzling jewellery at the historic Gold Souk and have a colourful and aromatic experience at the traditional Spice Soukh, which in conjunction with Expo 2020 will offer our guests an unforgettable overall experience in Dubai.
Day 3: Dubai (B)
Today begin your exploration of the World Expo site. This morning you will be transferred to the Expo venue. As part of the package and to orientate you we have arranged an Expo Highlights tour. This tour gives an overview of the entire site, offers privileged access to the thematic pavilions, and select country pavilions. (3 day entry ticket included). With 15+ hours of entertainment each day and a host of marvels on display there will be experiences here to suit everyone. Over 200 food and beverage suppliers from around the world will also be in attendance so there will be no excuse to go hungry!
Day 4: Dubai (B)
A full day at leisure to continue exploring the fascinating pavilions and experiences at the World Expo or to take an optional tour or activity.Optional tours· Shared Abu Dhabi tour with Louvre Museum and Qasr Al Watan (Thursdays only)· Shared Bateaux Dubai Dinner Cruise- Desert Safari with BBQ Dinner
Day 5: Dubai (B)

Following breakfast at your hotel you will transferred from your hotel to Dubai International Airport for your onward flight.

Arrival transferIf you have booked an arrival transfer in Dubai: to locate the representative after your disembarkation walk through immigration to the arrival hall exit. As the arrival hall opens up, look for a sign with your name or your hotel name on it. Please note that your driver will usually wait up to 90 minutes from the time your flight has landed. If for any reason you have been delayed at the luggage delivery or during the customs process and if you cannot see the rep, please telephone our local representative on the office numbers (or the afterhours mobile) listed. Our local representatives speak good English and will be happy to assist you. There are free telephones available at the arrival hall for you to do so.
NoteNot all hotels serve alcohol – The majority of properties featured in the brochure DO serve alcohol or are nearby properties or restaurants where drinks are available. RamadanDuring the Holy Month of Ramadan Muslims fast, abstaining from eating, drinking & smoking during daylight hours (approx. 7am-6.30pm). As a sign of respect, tourists should also try to refrain from these activities in public during the fasting hours. In 2022, Ramadan should begin around 01 April . After 30 days, or on sighting the full moon, Eid Al Fitr is celebrated & most public and private institutions close for at least three days. During this period hotels may not serve alcohol during daylight hours or at all. Entertainment such as belly dancing may also not be available over this period in particular on the Desert Safari.
Tourism Dirham taxA fee will be charged on all stays at hotel establishments in Dubai. This fee, called “Tourism Dirham” will be collected at check out by the hotel and will be charged on a per bedroom, per stay basis. The fee varies according to the hotel category as following:
- Five-star or higher-rated hotel or hotel apartment: 20 UAE Dirhams per room per night
- Four-star hotel or hotel apartment:: 15 UAE Dirhams per room per night
- Three-star hotel or hotel apartment: 10 UAE Dirhams per room per night
This tax is payable locally and directly to the hotel and is not included in our price.
